Geoff and his wife Pat have been foster carers since 1974. His focus on improving the lives of young people has led to not only the founding of Standard Securities but deep involvement in prominent public care charities.

He is a trustee and former treasurer of the charity Voice, a leading voluntary organisation working for children and young people in public care. He was previously a trustee and treasurer of the National Foster Care Association, now the Fostering Network.

Geoff is a member of the Institute of Actuaries and holds an advanced pensions qualification (G60) from the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Gordon co-founded Standard Securities with Geoff Gauge and Fred Maynard in May of 1973. He joined the partnership from Lloyds brokers, Harris and Dixon and previously worked for Hambro Life.

A regular tennis player, he has been an active member of Mayfield Tennis Club in Palmers Green for thirty years.

Paul joined Standard Securities in 1978 and became a partner in 1981. He had spent his financial career with Legal & General as Chief Clerk at their Sheffield area office, having joined the Croydon branch on leaving school.

A keen jazz fan, he is Vice Chairman of Watermill Jazz in Dorking, where he writes the publicity material and liaises with some of the leading acts in the country.

Peter joined Standard Securities when his firm Oakwood merged with Standard Securities in 2002. Peter helps people find mortgages and provides investment advice for clients of the firm.

He worked for Shell for over 25 years before joining Oakwood and wrote the Origo Financial Adviser’s Handbook with Tony Kidd.

When not advising clients, he can often be found sailing his Hawk 20 in the Solent.
